4240 Architecture was honored to receive the Shutze Award from the Southeast Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA) at a ceremony at the Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta, Georgia on March 7, 2020. The Boundary at Moreland Village in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina, won Best Project in the Commercial, Civic, and Institutional category. The Boundary, a Montage resorts social club, was strategically planned to take advantage of the natural setting and lifestyle with architecture that celebrates the materials and craftsmanship of the region. The project was realized through team collaboration with the common goal of creating a venue that builds community and fosters exploration in a relaxed, yet elegant style. 4240 hopes the project continues the legacy of the ICAA Southeast Chapter and serves as a place for families to gather for years to come.
“4240 Architecture shares a deep love of the classical design traditions in architecture,” says Christian Barlock, Principal at 4240 Architecture. “Our work at The Boundary embraced creativity, beauty and craft which were interwoven to create a timeless architecture that will forever define Moreland Village.” The Shutze Award recipients was covered in the May issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles linked here.
