GALs aims to incorporate physical activity in to their curriculum, so the 9th and 10th grade girls in the Engineering Elective rode their bikes to attend three site visits alongside their teacher Alex Lee, guided by 4240 studio members. They visited Riverfront Park and the Millennium Bridge, the Denver Civic Center, and finally Union Station.
4240 has been working with the Cleworth Architectural Legacy program through the Denver Architectural Foundation for 13 years. The program brings Architectural professionals in to Denver classrooms for sessions teaching middle and high school students about the built environment with young women from Girls Athletic Leadership School (GALS) this year.
